Books

   Books are like a portal. They take us to lands we have never known, and teach us lessons we have not learned. They bring us tales of adventure, and immerse us in our fantasies. Whether it's learning magic in a castle, or being chased in tunnels below London, it takes us away from normal life. Even amateur writers can take us to whimsical worlds, and introduce that could never happen, but many wish did. If many fictitious concepts were real, life would be much less boring, more than eating, working, and sleeping. Immersed in others imagination, we no longer have to worry about ourselves, our problems, our dangers, or our fears. We worry for someone we know is not real, and wish we were in their shoes, living their experiences, and living in their world. They are melded from our minds, for our minds. People, places, animals, and everything, formed as words, and best interpreted with words. Books are a getaway, a secret island, an isolated place were everything is as simple as reading, with an amazing sense of discovery around every corner.
   Sometimes, I wish life was a book.
